We look

A first conversation starts with the books exactly as they are. Shoebox, spreadsheet or a mix of apps: the practice maps the starting point and explains what needs attention.

Step two

We tidy

Any catch-up work gets a fixed quote before we start. Then we set a monthly rhythm so the mess never rebuilds. That's the whole trick: rhythm.

Step three

You read one page

Each month, the client gets a one-pager in plain English: what came in, what went out and what needs their eyes. It is designed to be read with a coffee. Once.

Ledger & Co is imagined as a four-person practice in Brisbane. Clients could meet in person, share a screen or use the secure portal.

The model is deliberately personal: the person who reviews the work is also the person the client can speak to.

Yes. The starting point would be the books exactly as they are, followed by a clear view of any catch-up work and what is due next. Any catch-up would be scoped before work begins.

The practice is designed to work with either. For a business starting fresh, the choice would be based on its needs, existing setup and who has to use it day to day.

Bookkeeping runs as a flat monthly fee based on transaction volume, agreed before we start, reviewed yearly. Tax and BAS are fixed per lodgement. If a job is going to cost more than quoted, you hear about it before it happens, not on the invoice.

No. The fictional practice is based in Brisbane, but the workflow is designed to work by phone, video and secure document upload as well as in person.
